The Grains of Sand was formed over two years ago, having originated a desire several members had to play more often and to keep the great music of the 60's and 70's around for everyone to enjoy - young and old - we want the music we play to last forever!

The band is comprised from a
a stellar lineup of musicians with
over 356 combined years of performance experience. Our bio's show we have a tradition deep in Soul, Motown and Beach Music not to mention the plethora of artists some of us have shared the stage with and their music, such as Blues and Country. A fine example of the caliber of one of the members of the band, guitarist Jody Worrell is his performance at Montreux's Jazz Festival with William Bell, Trudy Lynn and Joey Gilmore. Scotty Piotrowski and Donny Whitehead have been performing together in the same horn section of a popular ten piece band since they were in high school over 45 years ago. Along with Phil Boleman and Randy Peterman, they round out a four piece horn section. Greg Veale on bass guitar provides the bottom with Joe Ellison on drums. We guarantee you will enjoy the strong vocal harmonies and added showmanship of the group.
